2024 – 2025 Board of Directors
Benjamin Kasavan, President
Benjamin is the EaglePrint coordinator at Emory University, managing 60 public printers around campus, as well as the backend infrastructures and front-end knowledge and service management associated with that. He also works with windows and macOS computer lab management and dabbles in supporting their maker space as well. His first Student Technology Conference was attending in 2022 – he then presented for the first time in 2023 and later joined the Board of Directors. Outside of technology, he is passionate about biking – both commuting and helping other people get on their pedals. He’s been volunteering with DIY bicycle shops since 2015 and has been involved with SOPO Bicycle Cooperative since 2019. He believes that bicycling is a powerful force not only for transportation, but also for community building, resilience, and self-empowerment.
Julie Prouty, Vice President of Conference Management
As a board member from 2017 thru 2019, I enjoyed learning all about the process of planning a successful conference and working with the dedicated people who make it all happen. It was so exciting to see all the work and collaboration come together 2018 and 2019 conferences in Boulder and St. Louis. I would be honored to return to serve on the ResNet Board of Directors and contribute in a larger way with some experience to build on. Seeing the Board carry on with virtual programs and the summer conference online was very encouraging for me. Continuing in a virtual format provided a valuable resource and connection for the whole ResNet community when it was needed the most.
Vanesa Gaspar, Communications Officer
Hi! My name is Vanesa Gaspar, and I am the ResNet Supervisor at the University of California, Santa Cruz ( GO SLUGS). Our ResNet team provides level 1 network and end-user support for over 9,000 residential students. We were proud to host the 2024 Student Technology Conference(STC), and serving on the host committee was an insightful experience in planning and running such a large scale event. I’m excited to bring my firsthand experience to my new role as Communications Officer, with the goal of increasing the visibility and impact of our organization.
I’m a UCSC alumna, having earned my BA in Environmental Studies in 2017. I was also the Senti-Merriman Award recipient at the 2017 Student Technology Conference and have been an avid attendee of STC ever since. In my free time, I love to slow down and connect with nature. I have a passion for bird watching, nature journaling, and photography. If you spot a cool animal, I’d love to hear all about it! I look forward to connecting with you all in the future.

attended.
Sarah Luckart, Clerk of the Corporation
Sarah started their career as a Student Technician at Yale University — they had absolutely no prior tech experience and learned everything they know on the job, in the very same office they work in today. They found a passion for providing the same professional development opportunity to future generations of students, and promoting tech-literacy even for those who don’t choose a job within the field. They currently oversee 75 Student Technicians who provide in-person and remote troubleshooting, as well as a full service hardware repair office. They’ve only attended virtual ResNet Student Technology Conferences so far, and are very excited for the 2020 2021 2022 2023 2024 conference at the University of California Santa Cruz!
Tracy Landrith, Member at Large
Tracy has worked as a IT Service Center Specialist and Student Staff Manager at Furman University since 2012. Brandon Paris, Member at Large
In total I’ve spent 26 years in IT Support and over 30 years in customer service, in general. Having spent the last 10 years working in higher education at Stanford University with a focus on IT Support and the last 3 years focused on student engagement and being a student advocate, I am passionate about fostering an environment that empowers students to thrive. My experience as a Program Manager for Student Technical Support has provided me with insight into the current challenges and opportunities facing students today.
Professionally, my knowledge in information technology, contributing to student facing educational documentation and the intricacies of student technology needs would be a valuable asset to the ResNet board. Personally, I’ve dedicated myself to my community as a recreational and competitive soccer coach for the last 6 years and coaching 2 teams at a time which illustrates my ability to manage complex and ever changing schedules and calendars while maintaining communication with all the families involved. I believe my professional and personal experience would allow me to contribute to the board in a meaningful way and I’m eager to leverage my expertise to further ResNet’s vital mission.
